We Know Training and AHEIA Partner to Train Albertans

At a time when all Albertans find themselves practicing social distancing and self-isolation, many of us suddenly find ourselves with more hours to fill in the day – as well as an unexpected financial crunch.

One positive trend we’ve seen emerge from this global pause has been a growing number of experts and training providers offering courses at a discounted cost, or for free, giving people an outlet for their newfound free time. The extra time not spent commuting, for many, has been the catalyst to learn new skills from the comfort of their own homes.

One such training provider is our longstanding partner, the Alberta Hunter Education Instructors’ Association (AHEIA), who have generously released their new Alberta Fishing Education Program free of charge to all Albertans for a limited time.

Given the current set of circumstances everyone is dealing with, we feel now is the perfect time to release the Alberta Fishing Education Program for free, so that all Albertans – young and old – can take advantage of this extra time they may have found themselves with while they self-isolate or quarantine at home away from school and work.

– Robert Gruszecki, Alberta Hunter Education Instructors’ Association

AHEIA has been a valued We Know Training partner for many years and we’re excited to support them, and our other valued association partners, to continue to offer their training services through during this time of social distancing and self isolation.

This free training has also been released to coincide with the new sport fishing regulations recently released within the province. Included in this training are eight modules including identification of Alberta Game Fish, Safety While Fishing and Alberta Fishing Regulations and Management.

The Alberta Fishing Education Program is a one of a kind program within North America and aims to go beyond simply providing fishing education in Alberta but also to provide learners with confidence and knowledge to more responsibly spend time outdoors. The goal is that Albertans not only get out to enjoy our beautiful province, but also have the tools and knowledge necessary to help protect our province’s wildlife, parks, and other natural resources.

Online training has become more essential than ever with the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic. We Know Training is proud to be able to support all Albertans seeking to further their knowledge and training through partnerships such as this and industry-leading online training programs.

We Know Training also offers online training solutions and resources designed to bring great courses online and protect the continuity of training and education – wherever learners are located.
