We are Excited to Announce BCC’s New Website
We Know Training recently acquired Business Career College (BCC) in July 2020. Founded in 1997, BCC is one of the providers of online training for the financial and insurance industries in Canada. BCC has already established itself as a leader in online education by being the third largest provider for the financial and insurance industries in Canada, working with over 300 financial companies across the country to provide quality and affordable online training, including financial certifications and continuing education.
To further BCC’s commitment to be the leading source for up-to-date information and training in the financial planning and insurance services industry, we have been hard at work making design and user experience improvements to the website. As the world relies more and more on the internet for its daily wants and needs, we want to highlight BCC’s excellent and comprehensive course offerings with a modern and easy-to-use website.
New website design goals
We already began transitioning BCC’s certification programs to We Know Training’s next generation RapidLMS learning platform, and we wanted the website to echo that transition with a fresh design. The biggest design goals for the BCC website were to enhance the user experience, make the website mobile-friendly, and be a trusted information source for people entering a career in financial planning or insurance.
Enhanced user experience
It’s important that prospective students or current industry professionals can find the information that’s applicable to them quickly and easily. We Know Training’s web developers and designers strive to create a logical, understandable information flow for all types of users; this is especially important where learners may be new to the flows and intricacies of the industry
Mobile-friendly site design
Although most of our users visit BCC’s website from a desktop or laptop computer, mobile users are quickly catching up. More and more people in Canada are using their smartphones to browse the internet, with a whopping 29.8 million Canadian mobile internet users so far in 2020. This number is projected to grow exponentially over time.
The new BCC website was built from the ground up to provide a leading-edge mobile experience. The responsive design means that the site adapts to your device’s screen size, so nothing will look out of place and the need for zooming in is reduced.
Trusted source of information in the finance and insurance industry
Another goal for the new BCC website was to solidify our commitment as a trusted source of current and accurate information for the financial planning and insurance industries. We are adding more information to the site on a regular basis, so check back often to see what’s new.
Insurance and financial planning career pathways
One of the visions for the BCC website include clear sections on career paths for the most sought-after professions in the insurance and finance industries. This section gives you a birds-eye view of what different pathways to certification look like, with the key information you need to get started. The comparison chart allows you to see each profession broken down to its core components, so you can quickly see the difference between all of them without needing to rifle through multiple tabs.
Clear paths to certification
Whether you are new to the industry or looking to expand your career options, the new BCC website provides clear paths to certifications, so you know exactly where to go to start your education or find more information about a career path.
As an example, take a look at how the courses are broken down for online training for a career as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP):
By listing each online course and showing the CFP® certification process through BCC in steps, it is easy to see where you need to start and where you will end up after going through all the necessary online training courses. We haveve also provided a bullet-point summary that gives you further information on other requirements for a CFP Certification that are not provided in the online training process (such as completing a minimum of 1 year of work experience) as well as how to maintain your CFP certification over time.
Each path to certification is laid out consistently throughout the site and is designed to enhance the user experience by being clear and easy to read.
