Chris is a community leader, investor, and entrepreneur. Many entrepreneurs strive to leave a personal legacy behind in business and in the community and Chris continues to do just that. Chris started Yardstick in 2006 with his business partner, and grew the business dramatically over a short period of time. The business appeared on the Alberta Venture Magazine’s Fast 50 list of fastest growing companies for nine years, and for six years it was featured on Profit Magazine’s Fastest Growing Companies in Canada.

Before starting Yardstick, Chris spent 16 years in the Solid Waste and Recycling industry, most recently as a Senior Vice President for Western Canada. He is passionate about war history and volunteers his time to the Canadian Forces Liaison Council – Alberta as a board member. He is also a member of the Juno Beach Centre Association and serves on the Fireball Equipment Ltd. board of directors.

Steven has the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements, and vice versa, bridging the gap between non-technical stakeholders and the highly technical development team. From a leadership perspective, Steven finds great fulfillment in coaching and developing his team and watching their careers flourish.

Jason Watt

Managing Director

Jason Watt is a full-time instructor at Business Career College, and before this he served in the Canadian Armed Forces. He has taught at the Pearson Peacekeeping Centre and the Canadian Forces Peace Support Training Centre. Jason has also served overseas on four operations with the Canadian Armed Forces. He is the principal author of the course texts in the BCC financial planning curriculum.

Jason is active in his community and serves on the boards of the South Alberta Light Horse Regimental Association, McLeod Community League, and two committees of the Financial Planning Association of Canada. He provides volunteer financial coaching services to program participants at the Centre to End all Sexual Exploitation and the Norwood Child and Family Resource Centre. He is working to bring a pro bono financial planning model to Canada.

With Nick’s experience and track record, he is able to collaborate with cross-departmental teams to create solutions that are relevant, timely, and achievable.
