Chris is a community leader, investor, and entrepreneur. Many entrepreneurs strive to leave a personal legacy behind in business and in the community and Chris continues to do just that. Chris started Yardstick in 2006 with his business partner, and grew the business dramatically over a short period of time. The business appeared on the Alberta Venture Magazine’s Fast 50 list of fastest growing companies for nine years, and for six years it was featured on Profit Magazine’s Fastest Growing Companies in Canada.

Before starting Yardstick, Chris spent 16 years in the Solid Waste and Recycling industry, most recently as a Senior Vice President for Western Canada. He is passionate about war history and volunteers his time to the Canadian Forces Liaison Council – Alberta as a board member. He is also a member of the Juno Beach Centre Association and serves on the Fireball Equipment Ltd. board of directors.

Steven has over 16 years of experience in the eLearning technology space, working on a wide range of content development and platform projects over his career. His technology development team is passionate about building elegant technology solutions that deliver a strong user experience for learners and partners. Steven has the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements, and vice versa, bridging the gap between non-technical stakeholders and the highly technical development team. From a leadership perspective, Steven finds great fulfillment in coaching and developing his team and watching their careers flourish.

Experience & Expertise

We Know Training has extensive experience beyond providing market-leading instructional design and e-learning delivery; we also have deep expertise in the financial services training space. Business Career College, or BCC, is one of our subsidiary companies, which hosts all financial services and insurance course offerings on our platform. Our expert instructors at BCC, led by Managing Director Jason Watt, have a wealth of experience in financial services and have been training in that space since 1997.

Jason Watt is a full-time instructor at Business Career College, and before this he served in the Canadian Armed Forces. He has taught at the Pearson Peacekeeping Centre and the Canadian Forces Peace Support Training Centre. Jason has also served overseas on four operations with the Canadian Armed Forces. He is the principal author of the course texts in the BCC financial planning curriculum.

Jason is active in his community and serves on the boards of the South Alberta Light Horse Regimental Association, McLeod Community League, and two committees of the Financial Planning Association of Canada. He provides volunteer financial coaching services to program participants at the Centre to End all Sexual Exploitation and the Norwood Child and Family Resource Centre. He is working to bring a pro bono financial planning model to Canada.

Nick is the leader of Business Development & Partnerships at We Know Training, and has been with We Know Training for nearly 7 years. He is passionate about finding, securing and maintaining strong partnerships where We Know Training can provide our full suite of service offerings and ultimately create the most value for each Partner. With Nick’s experience and track record, he is able to collaborate with cross-departmental teams to create solutions that are relevant, timely, and achievable.

Emma obtained her BEd degree from the University of Alberta and brings 10 years of combined instructional design, facilitation, and organizational development experience to her leadership position. She is passionate about supporting her team to develop confident and competent learners through engaging, practical, and effective eLearning. She believes in developing strong relationships with clients, considering each one a partnership with the common goal of creating the best course possible.
